Judges Profile - Judge  XXXXXXX

 XXXXXXX Singh Malik is active in organizing Punjabi cultural programs in the New Jersey area as well as Bhangra events at his University. He has taught Dhol and Bhangra at all levels, with students. XXXXXXX has been performing Bhangra and playing the Dhol since the age of 14, starting in school and continuing through college and university. He has also studied under Madan Madi - Dhol Master- who has performed with famous Punjabi artists around the globe including Jazzy B and Hans Raj Hans. XXXXXXX has performed at numerous places including: Bruin Bhangra, South Beach Bhangra, Bhangra Blowout, The Bhangra Project, Boston Bhangra, The Best of the Best competition(s), Punjabi Melas, and Asian Heritage Festivals.  XXXXXXX not only performs but also arranges the music and choreographs Bhangra. He has done a mixture of playback and live performances - which are set on live Dhol and 'Bolis.' XXXXXXX is actively involved in teaching students about the history of Bhangra and the main steps in Bhangra and how to execute them, including Dhamaal, Jugni, Luddi, Sammi, Sialkoti, Phumaninan, Mirza, Jhumar, etc. at his workshops and seminars. He led his team to place at 7 national competitions including: Bhangra Blowout, Bhangra in the Burgh, South Beach Bhangra, and Naachvention. XXXXXXX Singh Malik has judged numerous Bhangra competitions across the nation and has used his vast knowledge of Bhangra to teach students of all ages. XXXXXXX thoroughly enjoys his active involvement in Bhangra events and continues to share his passion with the Punjabi community.

 YYYYYYYY attended the M S University o f Baroda,where she received Master's degree in dance and Music.YYYYYYYY is the director of the Nupur School Of Dance in Cleveland,and in addition to accomplished dancer herself , is a dedicated teacher who has taught Kathak Dance in Detroit, Minneapolis and Cleveland over the last 25 years.Her 23 students have been graduated in dance and performed their live Kathak recital(Rang Pravesh).She has also coordinated award winning Garba, Raas and Folk dances in Fogana for 19 years.She has been on judging panel for Fogana and College Competition.

ZZZZZZZZZ Mehta from Washington DC is not a stranger to Tampa Gujarati Samaj as she has visited us in past as a judge. She is an accomplished Bharat Natyam dancer. She is a disciple of Ilakshiben Thakore of Ahmedabad who is a disciple of Guru Kubernath Tanjorekar. ZZZZZZZZZ completed her Arangetram and further advanced Bharat Natyam training at a very young age. She had ran her own dancing school in Washington DC where two of her students graduated with Arangetram presentations. She has coached a number of teams for Garba, Raas and folk dances. She has been invited by numerous organizations for judging dance, Raas and Garba competitions. She is been a judge to Raas-Chaos competition held by GW for a couple of times.

aaaaaaa Nana is from Washington DC. She has obtained her graduate degree in Bharat Natyam from Nalanda Institute of Fine Arts in Bombay, India. Her field of specialization is Bharat Natyam but she has knowledge of Kathak and many other classical dances. She is also known for her choreography of Raas, Garba and folk dances. She has earned many first place awards and is recognized as a best director of Raas, Garba and Folk dances in FOGANA as well as other organizations.

bbbbbbb is the Director of Nrutyashala. She received formal training in Bharatnatyam at the school of performing arts at M.S. University Baroda. She is a disciple of Smt. Anjali Mehr, a leading exponent of Bharatnatyam. She received further training from Sri. Kubernath Tanjorkar, Sri. Pradeep Baruva, Ms. Nargis Katpitia and Smt. Jayanti Chandorkar. In addition to Bharatnatyam, bbbbbbb also had training in Kathak and Odissi in 1988. She is also an experienced folk dancer and choreographer, and her teams have won and placed in many folk dance competitions.
In 1988 bbbbbbb establshed Nrutyashala, and in 1990 started teaching Bharatanatyam. Hundreds of students have received training from her since then. bbbbbbb has produced and choreographed several dance shows, including Madhuvan, Utsav, and Krishna Anurag. She has presented various performances for institutions such as the Ekta Mandir -- Hindu Temple of D/FW, India Association of North Texas, Lions Club, Baroda Alumni, and many other organizations.

ccccccc take an active role in cultural programs at the Hindu Temple of Florida.ccccccc Sateesh started her training in Bharatnatyam in Baroda, India, under Guru Madhu, disciple of Guru Srimathi Mrinalini Sarabai, founder of Darpana Academy of Performing Arts, Ahemdabad.

After her basic training, she went on to further her training with Guru B Bhanumati of  Nrityakalamandir and Guru Narmada of Bangalore, disciple of Guru K. P. Kittappa Pillai of Tanjore in the Pandanallur / Tanjore style of Bharatanatyam. 

She has been teaching for past 15 years in Virginia and Florida.  She has choreographed and directed dance drama and group items.  Her passion for the art has led her to be engaged in enriching the community in all dance forms in the Sarasota and Tampa area.   She was elected the President of the Indian Association of Manatee and Sarasota in 1998.   She was the member of the Cultural Committee for AKKA (Association of Kannada Kootas of America) in 2004. 
ccccccc Sateesh started the SaiNritya Group and is currently teaching in Sarasota. She successfully conducted Arangetram for four of her students in Aug 2010.

Smt. dddddddd Kelam is an accomplished Bharata Natyam dancer, teacher, Nattuvanar and a choreographer living in Atlanta, GA, has been teaching dance for the past 25 years, 15 of them in the USA. She has had hundreds of students and has conducted 16 Arangetrams. She has choreographed over 70 dance items that include Varnams, Thillanas, Jathiswarams and padams etc

Our academy provides students with intensive training courses such as private and group lessons, special and fusion choreography, Certificate of Bharata Natyam, Associates degree in Bharata Natyam, Diploma in Bharata Natyam and Undergraduates in Bharata Natyam.

eeeeeee Singh is an experienced Bhangra Dancer who has competed all over North America including at NYC, LA, Miami, Vancouver, DC, Chicago, Seattle, etc. Throughout his undergraduate time, eeeeeee participated in 3 different teams (Jersey De Sher, The Bhangra Team, Rutgers Bhangra). As captain of Rutgers Bhangra, he led them to be the first co-ed all-live team in North America. Under his leadership, Rutgers Bhangra was invited to Best of the Best Competition. eeeeeee has over 6 years of experience in the competitive circuit and has also judged several competitions. These include Virsa Punjab Da (NC) , Big Apple Bhangra (NYC) Desi Dance Project (NY) and Desi Hungama (NY). This experience has allowed eeeeeee to appreciate and dug bhangra performances in competitive environments.
